Conclusion
Active learning has proven itself to be incredibly effective in the traditional classroom. As online teaching continues to grow in demand, the successful mechanisms of active learning should make the transition to online courses. Given the flexibility available to online instructors (in terms of the tools they can choose), there is nothing that limits the online active learning experience aside from imagination and technical knowledge. This tutorial has helped get you started down the path, but you'll need to experiment to find a course design that truly meets your needs and those of your students.
